The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in its fourth phase is no longer just a `playground` for superheroes, but also has the presence of many great gods with unparalleled power.
Below are all the groups of gods that have been, are and will appear in MCU movies.
Norse mythology
Characters inspired by Norse mythology were brought into the MCU very early, with names like Thor, Loki, Odin, Frigga, Heimdall, Sif, Tyr, Hela or Bor.
For people on Earth, Thor or characters from Asgard are considered gods thanks to the incredible strength they possess, along with a lifespan hundreds of times longer than that of humans.
In addition, the MCU has repeatedly shown that although their lifespan is very high, there are still certain limits.
The Egyptian gods are linked to Black Panther
As mentioned above, the Moon Knight series has brought many different Egyptian gods, most notably the moon god Khonshu, and the evil god Ammit.
Hathor is one of the gods appearing in Moon Knight, representing love and music.
Zeus and the Greek gods will appear in Thor: Love and Thunder
Greek mythology plays an important role in projects in the DC extended universe (DCEU), including Wonder Woman, Justice League or Shazam!
Zeus will definitely be present in the blockbuster Thor: Love and Thunder, played by Russell Crowe.
Eternals are the `living legends` of Earth
In comics as well as on screen, Eternals are considered the main inspiration for many legends and myths around the world, such as Gilgamesh, Mercury, Peter Pan or Icarus.
Marvel has simplified this by turning the Eternals into `tools` for the Celestials, helping them observe, evaluate and protect many planets in the universe, until the day another Celestial is born from that planet.
Perhaps the Eternals are a similar case to the Norse gods: They are considered gods on Earth, but are actually just a small species in the vast universe.
Celestials are the gods who dominate the MCU
Celestials have appeared in the MCU through the blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.
They are the ones who hold power at the most literal divine level, able to decide the fate of many planets, including Earth.
The MCU possesses many powerful entities that can be considered gods in this universe
While the above characters are all considered gods to a certain extent, the MCU still has many other entities that possess similar, or even greater, powers such as Dormammu, Dweller in Darkness, The Watcher,
